Kinda sad. This kid could have been a trade chip a year ago. At this point, little to no value. Maybe a mid-round pick?

From what I've pieced together from Chevy's interview it doesn't sound like he's being very professional in his handling of Roslovic, I think he's trying to grind him down into just accepting his qualifying offer even though he should obviously getting more then that.

The Islanders would never make that trade.. Lol

Dobson is gonna be a top pair RHD for a very long time, he's pretty close to untouchable for NY.

Yeah, I don’t think that flies on the Island. I would love it, but that’s a hard no.

As much as the Islanders have Maurice’d Dobson thus far, his value and potential are still sky high.

Another great example of asset management by Chevy! NHL.com had him ranked as the 22nd best GM in the league. I think that's quite generous for a GM that has missed the playoffs 5 of 9 years and would have missed them again this year if it were not for the "play-in" round. Outside of the one miraculous season 2017-18, this team has not been very good.

Looking at Kane, Trouba, Laine, and now Roslovic: all have complained about their usage. Chevy has lost every trade outside of the Evander Kane one. He then goes onto squander all the assets he got from that trade. His drafting record outside of the first round is abysmal. His coaching choice is peculiar as it seems that he and his coach have different ideas on what type of team they want.

I think I have seen enough of Chevy to say that change is definitely needed. I want a GM that works, not one that is consistently taking days off!

I’m sorry but sometimes I’m truly embarrassed by the level of whining and crying by Jets fans on social media sites.

It’s just sad, my 6 and 3 old children whine less.

Kane-literally requested a trade the day winnipeg got the Atlanta team, never wanted to be in winnipeg, Period!!

Trouba-again!!!! Never wanted to be here or Canada for that matter and put a plan in place with his agent to escape as soon as possible!!! Made the Jets trade him to one team, only one team!!!

Buff- I spoke to his family, directly!! Not I heard from someone or anything like that, I spoke to his family was told this was 1000% about his injuries and body breaking down. He couldn’t do it anymore

Enstrom- sorry Rexy but Enstrom fell apart physically and could no longer handle a simple body check without it causing pain and injury!!!! He turned down other NHL offers (like you have pointed out multiple times ) for this exact reason, he couldn’t play contact anymore and now plays in a lower level Swedish league that basically that has no contact.

Roslovic- played with Ehlers ( who all anylitics show is out best forward ) more than any other winger last year and couldn’t produce!!!!!! He is not better than the wingers a head of him!!!! He wants to be a top 6 player without beating out the 6 ahead of him!!!! He is already on his 2nd agent so what do you expect his new agent, Lemieux, a known ass to do? Don’t be stupid people.

Copp- wants to be 2nd line Center. He has not earned it yet And don’t @ me with micro stats that show how good defensively he is, you have to produce ( actual ) results not chances to earn 2nd line Center. Copp knows this and I appreciate what he’s said about having to prove it. He did not have a better year than Stastny last year so he gets it.

Laine- the guy has turned down long term contracts from winnipeg because he wants ten plus per year. If you don’t believe this you are out to lunch!!! Like far out to lunch. Laine believes he is worth more than he is !!!! This is the main issue!!! He played with 55 more than anyone else last year!!!! Stop talking about ya but when we got Eakin......stop crying and spewing useless points!!! He played with 55, fact!!!!

The amount of crying and refusing to acknowledge known facts cause it doesn’t fit your whining, crying narrative is embarrassing.

Yes this is a loss. Trouba could have been traded with term on his contract a year before and we could have gotten a lot more. I don't think getting your own first round pick back plus Pionk is a win.

Number 3. Copp got nickel and dimed by Chevy during arbitration. I don't think that left him feeling good. How many points had Copp put up before then, he didn’t exactly have a leg to stand on in negotiations, and all teams do this with their RFA’s

Number 6. On Roslovic, see Trouba. Roslovic had no value, and no team was offering anything decent. Same reason guys like virtanen and Bennett were not traded by their teams last year or year before. No one offered anything good

Hindsight is 20/20 - we couldn't trade Trouba or Buff or Enstrom a few years ago as we were Cup contenders at the time.

I think we are all done with old clips and old arguments but thanks for the advice son. Be sure to ask dad with help on your homework. Don’t want to fall behind on your break.

Well I didn't bother throwing out an alternative cause like I said Dobson would be pretty close to untouchable for the Islanders but if they were willing to move him it'd probably be in some sort of package for Laine, not sure what that entire deal would look like though.

I'll say this though, I'm a big Laine fan and a huge believer in the kid but a one for one trade for Dobson is one of the few one for one Laine trades I'd be okay with.

#2 - not buying what you are selling
#3 - Copp signed, didn't have to, Chevy did his job
#4 - Buff situation was a weird one, trade enstrom when he had value... if that is how we manage then who will we have left to play for us? In a trade he would have got maybe a 2nd a year or two before he left. (I have this theory that he is actually a zombie as he just keeps coming back into hockeybuzz)
#5 - overall I respect Trouba for how he handled his time in Wpg and his exit. the way i see it (more Hockeybuzz facts) Chevy did him a solid by honouring his wish to be traded to one of a very short list of teams and this was done due to the culture he has been cultivating from the start and includes loyalty and honour from the top down. The return was underwhelming, Heinola might turn into a good one, Pionk is a very good NHL player -- perhaps Trouba was overrated. that it was Jet's own pick back is irrelevant to the Trouba trade. Trading him sooner would not have increased his value as he was under team control and going to one of his preferred destinations.
#6 - He is under team control and his value is as high as it will be, short of him putting up some strong consistent results. In Wpg he is not a top 6 and wasn't making much of a case for becoming a strong NHL centerman.
